The bleachers looked too treacherous for choirs to stand on and I breathed a sigh of relief when no one tumbled. But most disappointing was the inadequate sound system. There were not enough mikes nor were they positioned strategically. Some of the microphones were not even working. Isn’t this something that could be checked out in advance?

The instrumental support was marvelous, but the bass on the sound system often drowned out the vocals. Next year they need to focus on mixing and staging. On the positive, the evening was a tribute to the immense amount of talent, dedication and heart that the devotees bring to their religious community. Robin Eldridge as emcee was powerful, funny and natural.

The young "angels,","steppers," and white-robed maiden dancers evoked just the right reaction from the audience who showered them with loving appreciation. Highlights of the evening were the incredible solos by Katie Waters, who voice could lift the roof, and the fabulous rhythmic choreography of the combined choirs’ conductor. We look forward to next year!
