Rex in Bali
Travel | Rex | June 27, 2011 at 09:28pretty good so far, though weather has been kinda crappy: intense rain last night and today so everything is flooding. It’s still very warm and humid.
Jamo’s mom’s house is amazing. You would absolutely love it! Literally right on the black sand beach. Little weird living with house servants, but I can get used to being spoiled – haha. Check it out here http://www.villapuripurnamabali.com/
The food here is very good, simple cooking but a
unique blendof flavors and generally very cheap. Went to a place that specializes in suckling pork today (a slow-roasted, whole pig that they carve up and serve) , and was about US$14 for 3 of us to eat.
The house is unfortunately in the middle of nowhere – about 20 minute drive to the nearest store – but there seems to be plenty to do in the surrounding area.
I’m going snorkeling tommrow for about $25 which includes pickup and equipment. Am supposed to go
ATVing and whitewater rafting later this week.
Going to work on getting a camera so I can get some photos. Should be able to find one cheap as electronics seem to be a fraction of the price here than they are in the US. Will keep you posted as things develop.
