Egyptian pop star calls Mubarak Egypt’s forgetful fatherA Point of View, Egypt, Politics | Sandra | February 9, 2011 at 09:57
How bout the Egyptian pop star Tamir Hosni who got up on stage in Tahrir Square to tell the crowd that Mubarak is Egypt’s father. Even a father with several children can forget their names, he told the pro-democracy anti-Mubarak protesters. They must understand that with 80 million Egyptians, their “father” should be forgiven for forgetting the needs of some of his people.
He was booed offstage and whisked away in an ambulance (not hurt) but to get him out. In tears, he sobbed that he had been told to speak to the crowd to “save the people.”
He cried, “I’m sorry. I got it all wrong.” The Tweets from Egypt are calling him a “cry baby.”
I think he might consider firing his PR guy.
